Once we were there I had a friend with plenty of experience dealing with sick children. Cynthia and her husband Reyes have 4 adorable children; Hunter-8, Riley-6, Piper-3 and Delaney-9 mo. Carter ended up going to urgent care twice and had a full work up the 2nd time. The conclusion was a full blown double ear infection and mild pneumonia. Oh, and he had a reaction to his antibiotics. We spent the first part of the week at the house. He had spurts of time when the Motrin/Tylenol was working and he felt up to playing with the kids. His favorite part was "cookin'" in the play kitchen. Riley would always come home from school and ask if Carter felt like cooking...or jumping on the bed (that was another favorite for the kids). He had a blast playing with the kids every chance he felt up to it. By the end of the week we finally had the infection taken care of and were able to go to Mt. Vernon for a little sight seeing. Cynthia's family had already been there a few times before, so they ran around outside with a beautiful view of the Potomic River, while Carter and I took the tour of George Washington's house. It was very interesting and I'm sure Carter learned a lot while he napped in the carrier on my back. The Ergo is so awesome (my baby carrier) that Cynthia even ordered one for herself after we left...sorry about that Reyes.
I owe a huge thank you to Cynthia for taking care of us for the week!
Ahh, my poor baby doesn't feel good :-(
